Uganda Communications Commission-UCC has stopped the operations of Radio Kitar.
The Masindi based radio station was switched off today morning at around 10:00am.
The decision by the regulatory body to close the station has been attributed to technical issues.
The programs manager at Radio Kitara Annette Najembe, says that the received a directive from the William Lutakome, the UCC Mid-Western Manager, indicating that they have some technical issues to resolve.
The manager however did not reveal more details surrounding the decision to close the station or the details of the technical details.
A member of staff at the radio station told our reporter that the decision to close the radio station was related to the programs aired by the station about the controversial age limit debate.
