Kabale Woman MP Asks Women to Embrace Fire Wood Saving Stoves

Kabale District woman Member of Parliament Catherine Ndamira has urged women in the district to embrace improved cooking methods which she revealed that they save fire wood and also reduce accidents in their respective homes.

The legislator was this morning speaking at training for women leaders from Ndorwa county East held at Kirigime guest house in southern division of Kabale Municipality.

The training was aimed at training women and equipping women with skills to enable them practice good hygienic practices, Avoiding home accidents and other precautions that should be taken in the family.
Ndamira revealed that there are materials that are locally available such as clay among others.

Ndamira further revealed that burns have become a serious challenge in homes saying that they are very expensive to treat and at times claim lives especially for the young ones.

Ndorwa County East Legislator Wilfred Niwagaba who sponsored the training the revealed that women are very key in the upbringing of children and other key family developments.
The legislator revealed that the role of women does not only stop at home but also very vital in the day to day running of the country.

Speaking at the same function Kabale district vice chairperson Bridget Tumwesigye Asinga told urged women to take hygienic practices seriously saying that women are vulnerable.
