As a way of giving back to the general public, MTN Uganda has donated a 17 watts solar panel worth 849,000/= shillings, to be planted at Kigezi International Medical Clinic in Kabanyonyi Trading Centre Kafunjo parish in Buhara Sub County Kabale district, intended at providing light to the medical facility in case there is power outrage.
Emma Onangu, the Western region MTN Ready Pay Solar Manager, says the donation is one way of giving back to MTN customers in the area who have financially supported the company’s development in the region. He added the donation is also to promote an active solidarity between MTN Uganda and the communities within which it operates.
Deus Arinaitwe, the Kabale branch MTN Ready Pay Solar Customer Service personnel, added that they were forced to donate a solar to the medical facility after people in the area complained of inevitable poor medical services at the only nearby health facility in case of power outrage at night.
Patrick Biryomumeisho a healthy worker at Kigezi International Medical Clinic commended MTN for its concern on the welfare of the general public and said that the donation shall help provide light at night to the facilities for patients majorly expectant mothers to be attended to even at night.
