Anger as Mbarara Municipality MP Shuns Cyclists Function

The failure by Mbarara Municipality Member of Parliament to attend a function organized by the association of cyclists has angered residents and cyclists.
The function held at Mbarara district head quarters on Saturday was organized by Mbarara Municipality Movement Boda Boda cyclists association to launch projects which the association started after receiving a boost of 100 million shillings from president Museveni.
According to the chairperson Ben Muhwezi Tinkamanyire, they had invited Mbarara Municipality Member of Parliament Micheal Tusiime among other leaders such as Mbarara district Woman Member of Parliament Rosette Kajungu Mutambi and Johnbosco Bamuturaki the Mbarara Local council five chairperson but Tusiime failed to turn up and neither did he communicate to them.

Samuel Natukunda a cyclist says that the area member of parliament has never shown interest in matters concerning the youth and that they are not surprised by his decision to stay away.

Presiding over the function, Western youth Member of Parliament Mwine Mpaka urged the youth to have no kind words for the leaders who have failed to attend to their concerns.

Mbarara Woman Member of Parliament Rosette Kajungu Mutambi urged the cyclists to remain united if they are to develop and improve their standards of living.

Our reporter was unable to get a comment from Mbarara Municipality member of parliament Micheal Tusiime over the matter.
