Western Uganda Youth Member of Parliament Mwine Mpaka has warned boda boda cyclists in Mbarara municipality against spending their heard earned money in non developmental ventures.
The Member of Parliament was officiating over the launch of the Motorcycles loan scheme for the youth in held at Mbarara district head quarters.
The legislator revealed that the cyclist make relatively good money but usually spend it in non profitable ventures yet if saved, it would have earned them a better living.
The Chairperson Mbarara municipality movement Boda Boda association Ben Muhwezi Tikamanyire revealed that the move is aimed at helping cyclists own motor cycles as they pay gradually.
The association allows any of its members to pay a minimum deposit of shillings 500,000 out of shillings 4 million and start using the motorcycle as they pay in installments.
He revealed that the association also plans to establish a washing bay, a driving school among other projects to enable them generate income.
