President Yoweri Museveni has revealed that the government will put more emphasis on equipping vocational schools as well as allocating more funds to savings and credit corporative organisations started by persons with disabilities.
The president was on Sunday speaking at the national celebrations to mark the international day for persons with disabilities held at Kamwenge primary school.
The celebrations were held under the theme “Employment of Persons with disabilities: A key to a resilient and sustainable society for all”
The remarks by the president followed remarks by Peace Mutuzo the state Minister for gender labour and social development calling on the government to ensure that more funds are set aside to support the persons with disabilities.
Mutuzo had called for more funds to be set aside to ensure that rehabilitation centres are equipped well.
