due to lack of public toilets. There is only one toilet in the town
council situated at the offices of the Uganda Revenue Authority which is managed by Katuna town council.
Now the residents say that they are living in fear that they could
contract sanitary diseases. Bernard Nabimanya, a trader in the town
council says that most of them are finding it difficult to answer
nature’s call, which has forced them to resort to defecating in open
areas and walkways among others.
The Katuna Town Council Mayor, Nelson Nshangabasheija, admits that the toilet crisis but blames it on lack of funds. He however said that plans are underway to establish modern toilet coverage in the town council.
