Kabale PWDs demand for a Special Needs School

Leaders of People with Disabilities-PWDs in Kabale district want the government to construct a Special Needs Center in the district.

Speaking during the swearing in swearing in of six members of Kabale district council for PWDs, a function that was held at Kabale Lukiiko hall on Thursday, leaders led by, the Kabale district female councilor for PWDs, Annah Kobusingye claimed that the only Special Needs Center that was available remained in Kitanga Kashambya Sub county, Rukiga district, after it was curved out from Kabale on 1st July this year.

They said that, currently there are a growing number of children with disabilities being confined in homes because of learning difficulties.

The Kabale district Chairperson Patrick Besigye Keihwa promised to follow up their concern for a possible solution.
