Police in Ntungamo are hunting for a mobiliser in eth ruling national resistance movement Ashraf Rweyeshera after he escaped from a hotel room where he had spent two weeks without clearing bills.
The hotel owner John Masasi says Rweyeshera has been residing in his hotel Meeting point in Ntungamo town while campaigning for the official NRM flag bearer in the Ruhaama County by election, Moses Kahima.
The mobiliser instead left the hotel and told the management that the bills will be cleared by the ruling National Resistance Movement –NRM party .
Rweyeshera reportedly left the hotel room on Tuesday evening leaving a bill of shillings 480000 (four hundred eighty thousand).
The money includes bills for accommodation and alcohol he consumed during his stay at the hotel.
Masaasi, a strong NRM mobilize in Ntungamo district who also owns a conglomerate of businesses said he has since reported the case to police after the NRM officials in the district revealed that they were not aware of the arrangement.
The Ntungamo district police Commander Geoffrey Orochi confirms that police has since received a case in effect and are hunting for Rweyeshera .
Rweyeshera has been a lead campaigner in the Ruhaama election for the NRM candidate Moses Kahima.
