Buildings Closed for Defying Municipal Directive

Authorities in Kabale municipality on Monday closed eight buildings that
are not paved.

The buildings that were closed are Kings Hotel, former Minister of tourism
and antiquities Serapio Rukundo building, Bishop Tumwijukye’s building,
Rugunda’s building, High table bar Building, Kadugara’s building among
others.

In October last year, Kabale municipal town clerk issued a warning notice
to landlords of buildings along Kabale Main Street to pave and paint their
buildings which was defied by some.

The team that was led by Municipal health inspector Andrew Beija and low
enforcement closed the buildings that were found with compounds cemented in
front.

Beija says that for the closed buildings, they will be opened when
landlords fulfil all the requirements.
