Museveni Asks Ruhaama Voters to Isolate Independents

President Museveni has said its hard for members of parliament who do not come from the ruling NRM party to deliver to the constituents because real service delivery and allocation are not simply shared in parliament as per se.

He said this while campaigning for the Ruhaama county NRM party flag bearer in the ongoing Ruhaama County by elections Mr. Moses Kahima at Ruhaama sub county play ground.

Referring to her wife’s 10 years tenure in parliament where he said he continuously lobbied and reminded him about the need for services in the county President Museveni said without such a member of parliament who seats on “the NRM table” where division of resourced and allocation is done there can never be real development in constituencies.

He said his wife used to remind her every time because he was always with her and sat together at the serving table which can’t be done by either independents or opposition MPs.

He campaigned in four different locations at Nyakyera, Rwoho, Ruhaama and later Muriisa in Ntungamo Sub County. on all the campaign rallies, he introduced Mr. Kahima whom he said would be a better candidate, being NRM that would always reminding him of grievances from Ruhaama people whom he knew well.

He said independents campaigning in the elections are just undisciplined NRM fellows who are either impatient and lack morality.

Ruhaama county parliamentary seat fell vacant following the death of Mr. William Beijukye Zinkurateire on 4th November 2017. Four people are contesting in the election, three (Dr. Peninah Beinomugisha Jambo, Eng. Jackson Kabikire Mubangizi and Ms. Vastine Orishaba ) are independent candidates.
