The Rukiga District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Caroline Kamusiime Muhwezi has advised learners to avoid bad peer groups if they are to excel.
The Legislator made this call yesterday while handing over 145 mattresses to each of the candidates who scored first grade in the 2017 Primary Leaving Examinations-PLE in Rukiga district. The function was held at Rwamucucu sub county headquarters. Kamusime said that bad peer groups lead learners get involved in evil acts hence affecting their future.
The Rukiga District Education Officer Vastine Beyendera, called for cooperation between parents and heads of schools, if education sector in the district is to be promoted. Parents of the beneficiaries led by Frank Besigye Kyerere, Jack Tugume, and Rev. Josam Sunday hailed the legislator for the spirit of boosting education.
Out of 2035 candidates who sat for last year’s PLE exams, 145 passed in division one, 1024 in division two, 446 in division three and 251 in division four, 127 were ungraded while 42 failed to turn up.
