Kampala International University- Western campus students under their Association allied health Sciences on Friday cleaned up the streets of Ishaka town in Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality.
The move is part of the association’s commitment to sensitize the community.
The association of Allied health Sciences brings together students of Diploma in Clinical Medicine, Bachelors in Clinical Medicine and Masters in Public health among other courses.
Students participated in cleaning streets as well as collecting garbage along Ishaka-Kagamba road, Kabirisi road in Ishaka town among others.
Moreen asimwe, the dean student’s affairs at Kampala international University western campus revealed that the move is one of the ways that the institution is using to give back and get closer to the communities.
She revealed that this will always been done more often in an effort to ensure that the environment is safe and clean.
She urged locals in the area to ensure personal hygiene and that of the environment if they are to do away with diseases that result from poor hygiene.
