Man Gets 10 Years for Attempted Defilement

The Kabale Chief Magistrate Court has sentenced a 22 year old man to 10 years imprisonment in Ndorwa government prison over the charges of attempted Defilement.

The court that was presided over by the Kabale Chief magistrate, Julius Borore Kyaka, yesterday, heard from the prosecution led by the Kabale Residents state Attorney Judith Nyamwiza that on 28th November 2016, Dismus Tugumisirize while at Nyamabaare, Omukatooma in Maziba Sub County in Kabale District unlawfully attempted to have carnal knowledge of an 18 years old girl.

While delivering judgment, His worship Borore said that according to the evidence produced by the prosecution and considering the increasing cases of Defilement in the courts jurisdiction.

He then sentenced him to ten years but considering the time he has been on remand for one year he is to serve nine years so as he can be an example to other offenders.
