The Isingiro North County legislator Lt. Col. Bright Rwamirama wants government to put partial quarantine in areas affected by animal diseases like foot and mouth disease, lumpy skin among other diseases.
Lt. Col. Rwamirama who is also the State Minister for veteran affairs says that with a quarantine in such places, movement and marketing of animals and farm products will be limited and this will also limit the spread of these animal diseases.
According to Minister, leaders should also stop interfering with quarantine policies if the fight against animal diseases is to succeed.
He noted that there is attendance of political leaders who defies the ministry’s directives and allow the movements and selling of animals and their products which he says that has increased on the persistence of the diseases.
