Farmers have been urged put to good use the Extension workers hired by the government if they are to have good dairy farming products.
The call was made by Dr. Joseph Byaruhanga a consultant with Japan international corporation Agency during a one day training workshop for farmers and technocrats in Mbarara district held at Mbarara district council hall.
The training focused on safe milk production by farmers.
Joseph added that in order for farmers to have safe milk, they must ensure proper hygiene in their farms, milking parlor, kraals among other areas where animal live and feed from.
He further cautioned farmers against using farm inputs without first consulting the extension workers who have got vast knowledge on handling of animals.
Speaking at the same workshop Mbarara district secretary for finance Bazir Bataringaya urged the farmers to share knowledge saying that they face the same challenges that must be collectively addressed.
