The Ndorwa West legislator and also state Minister for Planning, David Bahati has donated a total of 7666 hoes to farmers in Ryakarimira town council, Rubaya Sub-County, Kabale district.
According to Bahati, the move is aimed at encouraging the electorate to engage in Agriculture which he says will in turn fight household poverty and ensure food security.
The donation is a fulfillment of the pledge that the legislator promised to the locals.
While representing the Minister at the function held at Ryakarimira town council headquarters, Darious Nandinda, the Kabale Resident District Commissioner asked residents to focus on improved agricultural practices so as to benefit their communities.
Enock Kazooba, the Rubaaya Sub-County Chairperson asked farmers to embrace environmental friendly agriculture in order to reduce effects of climate change.
Medard Tugumizemu a voter from Rubaya told our reporter that the legislator had done good to fulfill his promise saying that they will not hesitate to vote him again.
Silver Tugume another voter says that farmers struggle because they are un able to buy the farming tools. He revealed that the intervention by Minister Bahati was timely since it is the planting season
