206 officers were on friday passed out at Bihanga Army training school in Ibanda district.
The pass out exercise was held in Nyamarebe Sub County in Ibanda district.
The officers include 192 males and 14 female junior officers who have been undergoing the platoon command course in Ibanda since last year in November.
The chief guest who was the commandant of Kabamba military school Brig. Sunday Deus Training warned the soldiers to encounter a number of training courses after they have joined the army.
“The training must be challenging but also interesting; it is very bad to have untrained officer”.
He said that soldiers used to see the training to be part of the punishment unlike today when officers lobby to go for trainings to advance in the military skills.
He urged the junior officers to advance for further training courses instead of praising themselves for finishing the first course.
He requested the officers to impact the skills and tools that were taught at Bihanga army training school to their service points.
He also advised the passed out officers not to indulge in the politics when they go outside to serve.
According to Brig. Barigye Ruhesi, the Bihanga commandant ,the junior officers were taken through subjects like military law, tactics, map using, political education, military intelligence, field engineering, staff duties and military training to produce competent platoon commanders with globe leadership skills and work force.
The 2nd division spokes person Maj. Peter Mugisa said that the officers will be deployed in different army units across the country.
