West Ankole diocese has resolved to put the Mothers’ Union facilities at Katungu to utilisation so that the diocese can fetch income from them.
This was resolved yesterday(Monday) during the West Ankole diocese Christian leaders consultative meeting held at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Bweranyangi.
During the meeting, Christians asked the diocesan administration to put the Mothers Union buildings to utilisation by renting them out to Makerere University or any other academic institution for establishment of a branch or study center as earlier passed by the diocesan ordinary Synod that sat on 27/05/2016.
The meeting was fully attended by Christians from all 25 Archdeaconries of West Ankole diocese.
It was resolved, that the proceeds from the buildings will be used to support Mothers Union in the diocese, Ankole Western University, and run activities at the diocese.
During the meeting, the Bishop of West Ankole diocese, the Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni thanked the opinion leaders for having a shared vision for the Mothers Union project.
He said that arrangements concerning tenancy are in the offing and any step taken will be communicated.
He added that he has seen the diocese get together and there is not cause for worries as God is at work.
Former Bushenyi lcv chairman, Canon Yowasi Makaru, who was in attendance hailed the Bishop for the vision of a model diocese saying it is possible for West Ankole to unite. He asked Christians in West Ankole to stop unnecessary condemnations because condemnation is not the language of the Bible .
