The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt. Rev. George Bagamuhunda has asked farmers across the country to practice relevant farming methods, as a way of protecting the environment.
This message was carried in his Easter message delivered yesterday at the diocesan headquarters at Rugarama hill in Kabale Municipality. The Bishop expressed concern on how farmers have failed to emphasize good farming methods like mulching, terracing.
He also said that human activities like deforestation and bush burning have exposed environment to natural disasters like floods. Bagamuhunda also advised Christians to work with determination if they are to excel.
The Bishop also condemned the rampant cases of kidnap across for ransom the country. He asked all Ugandans to rethink, reform, condemn and pray against the heinous acts. Bagahuhunda called for apprehension of culprits and ensure justice prevails. He also asked Ugandans to be security cautious in the awake of rampant killings.
