Four Nurse Held for operating illegal clinics in Kisoro

Police in Kisoro district are holding four health workers in connection with setting up illegal drug shops in the area.
They were picked up in an operation conducted by the Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC) Kigezi Regional Supervisor Samuel Nahanga saw several health units that were operating in Mukono District without qualified staff and licenses closed and their equipment confiscated. The arrested quack nurses were operating clinics along the stretch of Kisoro-Kyanika-Bunagana boarder in Kisoro district.

According to Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Maate, suspects are Matthew Kwizera 56years a retired government officer but found operating St Mathew drug shop in Mubuga trading centre fined 600, 000shillings, Tarasis Uwimana 43years graduate nurse-Community Care drug shop on Chuho street Kisoro municipality was operating without license for the clinic and was fined 300, 000shillings.

Others are Sarah Ahimbisibwe a nurse (27) was found working in Maziba drug shop Kisoro municipality and yet she was unqualified and was fined 600, 000shillings and Deo Nsabimana 55years working at St Charles drug shop in Mubuga trading centre yet was also unqualified to operate a drug shop and has been fined 600, 000 shillings.

Maate says that are in police custody at Kisoro police and they will released after paying the fine.
