Police at Parliament has arrested three youths who were attempting to petition Parliament demanding for the release of Mukono Municipality member of parliament Betty Nambooze Bakireke..
The youths who stormed Parliament today morning argue that Parliament should protect Betty Nambooze and not wait for her to die.
Nambooze is being held at Kiruddu hospital where she is treating her spine injury under police watch .
Habib Buwembo, one of the youths arrested says they want access to parliament to meet the speaker who can cause the release of Nambooze. Buwembo says the MP is being treated like a no body, and is at risk of getting worse if not attended too.
However the Parliament Police blocked the youths from entering Parliament and ended up having them arrested.
Buwembo says arresting them will not solve the problem.
The youths were put on a police truck and taken away after they resisted to use the gate opposite the National theater in their attempt to submit the purported petition
Yasin Galiwango ,another youth also arrested says the MP deserves to be taken to a better health facility and Police is risking her life by denying her travel abroad.
He says they will continue protesting until Nambooze is released
