Ngabo Academy Student Sits For Exams after Police Intervention

Naome Ninshaba a senior six student of Ngabo Academy in Mbarara municipality on Monday sat for her Uganda advanced certificate of examinations after the intervention of the police and other authorities.

Ninshaba was reportedly denied access to the school by the school director Captain David Bashaija on grounds that the school demanded shillings 1.3 million shillings from her.

The student however decided to seek the intervention of the police and Benon Twinomujuni the chairperson of the head teachers association in Mbarara district.

The student was forcefully taken back to school premises by police and finally allowed to her exams.
The student revealed that it is true that the school demands her the money in question but says that her relatives have been trying to talk to the school authorities to allow her do the exams as they continue to mobilize the money.

Captain David Bashaija the director at Ngabo Academy says that the student in question disappeared shortly after registered for her exams and only to re-surface today without paying the school dues.

Sources at the school indicate that the administration has tampered with identity card issued to candidates and put a different photograph to confuse the student.
Rwizi regional police spokesperson Samson Kasasira told our reporter that the school has been ordered to allow the student sit for exams without interruption,
