Rubanda district has allocated UGX 57 million to Nyamasizi Hot springs in Hamurwa Sub County in a bid to develop the area into a potential tourist site.

The allocated funds are a grant from the local revenue generated in Rubanda district.

According to the Rubanda district LCV Chairperson Jogo Kenneth Biryabarema, the 57m shall help in the construction of a residential house and a rain water harvesting tank on the site to provide shelter and clean rain water respectively.

He says that this is aimed at serving the hundreds of people who camp at the hot springs for leisure and other reasons.
Biryabarema added that in this 2019/2020 financial year, the district local government is looking forward to securing other funds to help construct a modern latrine at the site as a way to boost sanitation at the site.
