Journalist in Uganda have been urged to always uphold professionalism in the course of executing their work.
The call was this afternoon made by Robert Ssempala the executive director Human Rights Network for Journalists while speaking at the closure of a three days a training of the legal and Justice system for Journalists from western Uganda held at Acacia hotel in Mbarara town.
He further revealed that it is important for the media practitioners to stand firm and ensure that the work within the laid guidelines.
He further revealed that the media practitioners should desist from the practice of rushing for free things and other temptations that compromise their reputation and career.
Perez Rumanzi a journalist with Daily Monitor based in Ntungamo district says that the challenges facing journalists range from poor pay, lack of professionalism and living reckless lives.
The training attracted Over 30 journalists from Ankole and Kigezi sub regions.
