Ntungamo Farmers Get 210 Pigs

Farmers in Ntungamo district on Thursday received a total of 2010 pigs from the National Agricultural Advisory services through Operation wealth creation.
The pigs were by Bustyoro Dairy farm and delivered to the respective beneficiaries across the district.
Ntungamo district veterinary officer Dr.Yaake Basulira revealed that the pigs received were in good shape and he hopes that they will improve the livelihood of the farmers.
Basulira says that the pigs are capable of generating maximum yields once taken good care of asking the farmers to ensure that the pigs are kept in clean facilities to avoid possibility of them falling sick.
Brigadier General John Tumwebaze the Operation wealth creation commander for Ntungamo district cautioned that the beneficiary farmers against the practice of selling off the piglets.
He says that some farmers had last yet resorted to slaughtering the piglets on grounds that they had refused to take feeds given to them yet the authorities had not been alerted on the matter.
