Kiruhura Man Abducted after Selling Cows

Police in Kiruhura district is hunting for three assailants who abducted an old man and robbed him Shs3.5 million on Thursday July 4,2019 around 2pm.
The victim has been identified as Moses Rutokire ,60, a resident of Kacumbiro cell Rushere parish Kiruhura district who was heading to Nyakasharara town to bank the money at Rushere SACCO after selling his two cows in Nyakasharara cattle market.
According to the Rwizi region police spokesperson Samson Kasasira, the victim says three men stopped by him in a white car and the driver asked him whether he was going to Rushere.
They strangled him along the way, tied him and dumped him in Kazo sub-county Kazo district after robbing him the money and his phones. He was later rescued by residents.
Police cautions the public against keeping money in their homes and associating with strangers.
