St Theresa Girls Vocational Secondary School Rushoroza in Southern division Kabale municipality is struggling to raise 219.81 million shillings to help the school purchase a school coaster bus.
The school’s head teacher Sr Maria Gorette Tugumenawe says purchasing the vehicle shall among other advantages help reduce the school’s usual transport costs in transporting the students for external seminars and study tours essential for their academic excellence.
In today’s fund raising function held at the school’s main grounds, a total of 19 million shillings in cash and pledges was raised towards the same cause of purchasing the school’s coaster bus.
The function was also intended at celebrating the school’s 18 years of existence and celebrating the school’s patron saints day, St Theresa.
Presiding over the mass to celebrate the life of St Theresa, the school’s patron saint’s day, the Bishop of Kabale diocese encouraged Christians to emulate St Theresa’s kindness, simplicity, humility and love for harmonious communities.
