The bishop of Kabale diocese, Rt Rev Callist Rubaramira, has warned
Christians against egocentric tendencies, at the expense of the poor
and the needy, saying that God’s judgment will be pronounced against
such people.

Bishop Rubaramira sounded the warning yesterday, while presiding over
of the official blessing and opening of St Charles Lwanga Chapel, the
newly built church for Uganda Martyrs University-Kabale Campus, and
the inauguration of the new 2019/2020 academic year.

The Bishop expressed dismay at most Christians especially the rich, who always possess tendencies like being self-centred, individualistic and indifferent, to the extent of not minding about their needy, weak and
impoverished neighbors.

The church was built by Vidas Engineering services Limited at a tune
of 600million shillings and the funds were mobilized by the University
Chaplain, Rev Fr. Zeno Mbishinzimaana.

The bishop blessed the church by sprinkling holy water around it, on the altar, the tabernacle and on the statues of Mary and Joseph.

He said that blessing of the chapel, symbolizes the special presence of God, which the Christians
can always partake during celebrations of mass.

Speaking during the same mass, the Kabale district Woman Member of
Parliament, Catherine Atwakiire Ndamira, commended Bishop Rubaramira, for championing programs and educational institutions that have empowered government to provide equitable services.
