Drama ensued yesterday at a fundraising for the construction of the new Ruboroga catholic sub parish church, when the Buhara Catholic parish priest Rev Fr Felix Bunimba, ordered the Commissioner Internal Audit and Compliance in the Uganda Revenue Authority, Dr Poltazio Begumisa, to write an apology, for allegedly confronting his curate Rev Fr Austin Christmas.
Fr Bunimba’s order followed an incident on 28th last month at St Theresa Girls’ vocational secondary school Rushoroza in Kabale municipality during the school’s fundraising, when Dr Begumisa allegedly confronted Fr Christmas, accusing him of decampaigning him. Dr Begumisa is one of the candidates that have shown interest to unseat the Ndorwa East MP Wilfred Niwagaba.
Fr Bunimba claimed that Dr Begumisa also mentioned and attacked him, during the confrontation, saying that the two priests support the incumbent Mp Wilfred Niwagaba. He ordered Dr Begumisa to apologize to the Buhara catholic parish community.
When he was given a microphone, Dr Begumisa said that he would not apologize and denied having confronted Fr Christmas. He however said that on that day, Fr Christmas approached him and greeted him and no confrontation happened.
