The body of Brayer Ahimbisibwe, a S3 student of St Mary’s College
Rushoroza in Kabale municipality who died while extracting sand has
this afternoon been laid to rest in their ancestral home in Kasheregyenyi Kamuganguzi Sub County Kabale district.

Ahimbisibwe who was set to join S4 died yesterday when a sand quarry
from where he was extracting sand for sale collapsed killing him
instantly.

He died together with his yet unidentified friend with whom
they were extracting sand.

The incident happened in Kasheregyenyi village.
Speaking during his requiem service held at Kasheregyenyi Church of
Uganda, the Head teacher St Mary’s College Rushoroza Remigio Byamukama described the deceased as a cooperative, disciplined and hard working student that was dedicated to his studies.

The Kamuganguzi Sub County councilor Julius Barusya described
Ahimbisibwe’s death as unfortunate and a big blow to his family and
the Kasheregyenyi community.

Sand mines in Kabale district often curve in hurting the miners as they operate without protective wear and other safety measures .
