Mbarara Municipal council receives new Town Clerk.

Stakeholders in Mbarara municipality and Uganda as a whole have been advised to avoid rumor-mongering if they want to take Mbarara municipality to the level of a city.

This was sounded by the outgoing town clerk Mbarara municipal council Francis Baribanawe yesterday Tuesday Jan 28,2020 while handing over office as he clocked retirement age (65).

Baribanawe handed over the office to his deputy Richard Mugisha who will be in acting capacity.

Baribanawe said that most of the people in Mbarara municipality instead of focusing on working for the development of the town they spend a lot of time in rumor-mongering.

He challenged the leaders to be transparent and accountable to their subjects if they are to develop the town.

James Mwesigye Resident District Commissioner Mbarara who presided of the handover ceremony asked the Acting Town clerk Mugisha to be cooperative and transparent.

In his remarks, Mugisha the caretaker town clerk Mbarara municipal council promised the good working relationship among the municipal workers.
