The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Mbarara, Ltd Col James Mwesigye has called upon National Drugs Authority (NDA) to wake up and do their job and ensure that they look out for fake and expired animal and human drugs which are illegally on the market.
National Drugs Authority-Mbarara Regional Office has impounded a falsified, unregistered and counterfeit veterinary drug called TICK BURN SPRAY after conducting a pharmacy-vigilant operation in several districts of Western Uganda.
“TICK BURN SPRAY” has been circulating illegally on the market for more than 2 years.
Several farmers in Western Uganda made an outcry to NDA last year in January and NDA started on the operation which is still ongoing.
The public needs to watch out for all fake drugs and report all to National Drug Authority.
