Kabale Municipality Donates Wheel Chairs to PWDS

Kabale municipal council on Friday as today donated four wheel chairs to four people living with disabilities as a way to empower them and promoting equality.

The beneficiaries included a 45-year-old Allen Tugumisirize a resident of Kyetobokire cell Kijuguta ward Northern division, Winfred Happy 30 years a resident of Nyamabale cell Upper Bugongi Northern division, 30 year old Anne Kobusingye a resident of Kigugwe Kibikura Lower Bugongi Northern division and 25 year old Bernard Mugumya a resident of Kikungiri cell Mwanjari ward Southern division Kabale municipality.

According to the Kabale municipality mayor Emmanuel Sentaro Byamugisha the wheel chairs were lobbied from the municipal council by the Kabale Phiona Aturinda female councilor representing the disabled at Kabale municipal council.

Byamugisha revealed that the four wheel chairs were purchased at 500,000 shillings each totaling to two million shillings. He added that the donation is a way of empowering people with disabilities and as a way of promoting their rings for inclusive communities.

The beneficiaries commended Kabale municipal council for its special consideration to the disabled saying the wheel chairs shall help them to socialize with other community members as they ease their movement.
