A group of Rwebikoona old market traders today camped at Mbarara RDC Lt. Col. James Mwesigye’s office after the death of their fellow Kyobuzaire Naume Man who collapsed and died this morning, following closure of the market on RDC’s order yesterday.
The deceased was operating a small restaurant and by the time of closure she has sold only 2 plates and upon closure she collapsed, remained unconscious up to today morning when she died at her residence in Rwebikoona Kamukuzi division Mbarara municipality.
Market reopened.
The situation has prompted the State Minister for Local Government Jennifer Namuyangu to order that the market reopens but traders fully adhere to the guidelines and directives to prevent covid19.
She visited the market today with Mbarara district Covid19 task force led by RDC Lt. Col. James Mwesigye.
Traders led by Niwagasha Eliab have however accused the RDC for being rude since the first closure on April 10,2020.
