Health workers has this afternoon picked samples from a total of 13 people who have been quarantined in Ntungamo district
The 13 were reportedly deported by authorities in Rwanda after they had reportedly entered the country illegally.
The 13 had been arrested and detained in Rwanda before they were deported early this week.
The thirteen were received by the authorities in Ntungamo led by George Bakunda the Head of the Ntungamo COVID 19 Taskforce who also double as the resident district commissioner for the same district and later quarantined at Ntungamo health Training Institute so that they are monitored and tested for COVID-19.
Ntungamo resident district commissioner George says that the samples of the 13 were picked today for testing to ensure that they did not enter the country while they were infected.
Dr.Richard Bakamuturaki the Ntungamo district health officer told our reporter that the move is one of those aimed at ensuring that they are sure of the status of those quarantined and take possible action depending on the results.
