Mercy Kesiime Arinaitwe Kamujanduzi has expressed her interest to contest for Rukiga woman member of parliament seat.
Kamujanduzi ,a member of the ruling National resistance movement seeks to unseat the current Legislator Carroline Kamusiime come 2021.
Arinaitwe who is a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University, Has workerd with care international, ministry of water and Environment and currently self-employed has vast experience in leadership is known to good at working with communities, She is married with three children.
Kesiime told our reporter that once elected, she will focus on Poverty eradication by empowering women and other vulnerable groups to generate income through skills like tailoring, knitting, Crocheting and production of soap(both liquid and bar) and candles among others.
She believes that the above items are essential at home and at the same time can be sold to boost household income.
“Through research, I have found out that most children drop out of school due to lack of school fees, my endeavor therefore will go a long way to reduce on the number of school dropouts in the District “said Kesiime.
She adds that that advocating for clean and safe water supply for each village in the District will be one of the top issues on her agenda since access to clean water is a human right. Once elected she plans to ensure that policies aimed at uplifting the standards of education and poverty eradication are prioritized.
