Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has started the works aimed at restoration the section of Ntungamo – Kabale road in Kabale district that was destroyed by landslides on 2nd of this Month.
The section of the road in Kaharo Sub County, about 18 kilometers from Kabale town curvedin forcing UNRA, to a temporarily close the road and allow only light vehicles to cross.

On Monday, works on the section commenced and the Uganda National Roads Authority station engineer for Kabale Augustine Kabanda was supervising the works.
Engineer Kabanda told journalists says that the works started with the clearing of the affected section and hope to be through with the emergency works to enable the traffic flow resume as investigations into the cause of the collapse continue.
He says that the section is water logged and requires serious works to enable the water drain through without affecting the road.
He however revealed that the rains have slowed down the works since it rains daily forcing his team to work for an average of three hours per day.
