Kitanga Health Center Donates Medical supplies to Rukiga District

Kitanga Health center III has today donated assorted medical supplies
to Rukiga district COVID-19 Taskforce in a bid to fight the pandemic.

The items which among others include Jik, Washing bar soap, liquid
soap, sanitizers,95 face masks, gloves, hand washing facilities,
disposable gowns, caps, goggles.

While handing over the supplies to the leadership of Rukiga district
at Kitanga Parish in Kashambya sub-county, Rev.Fr. Gaetano Batanyenda
the Kitanga Health center 111 director general revealed that the items
were procured with support from Private Swiss Foundation through
Mission Bambini Switzerland and other friends from Italy.

Batanyenda revealed that the decision to focus on medical supplies was
prompted by the crisis in the facilities in Rukiga and the entire
country.

Rukiga district acting Health officer Gilbert Ahumuza revealed that
the supplies will be distributed to five health facilities which
include Kahambya health center III,Mparo health center IV, Kakatunda
Health center III,Kashekye, and Kitanga.

speaking at the function, Rukiga district local council five
chairperson Alexander Kampikaho vowed to ensure that the donated items
are put to good use and reach out to the intended beneficiaries.

Pulkeria Muhindo Mwine the Rukiga resident district commissioner who
chairs the Task Force commended the Kitanga Health center health team
and Rev.Gaetano Batanyenda for coordinating the donation and the
spirit of generosity exhibited during the tough times.

Muhindo further revealed that the team had earlier handed over two
vehicles including an Ambulance to the task force which she said
played an important role in evacuating people in need of urgent
medical attention.
