The Kisoro Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Suleiman Kasozi has been transferred to Bukamansimbi Dostrict Local Government after serving three years in Kisoro district.
Suleiman Kasozi who has been serving as CAO in Kisoro since July 2017 will now be replaced by Ismail Musa Onzu who has been serving as CAO in Zombo district.
An Official document from the office of the CAO Kisoro dated July 8th 2020, states that the Kisoro CAO Suleiman Kasozi has completed his tour of duty in Kisoro District which began back in 2017
It further states that he will be transferred to Bukomansimbi district from the greater Masaka area in the financial year 2020/21
Suleiman is expected to hand over today July 9th 2020 during the state of district address given by the Kisoro LCV Abel Bizimana in the district council hall in Kisoro Municipality.
While speaking to Kisoro FM, Suleiman said his transfer should not be viewed with suspicion but as a routine activity in Local Government Structures.
His transfer comes at a time when Mr. Suleiman has been away from the office for more than two weeks. Highly placed sources say he might have been transferred following an investigation into Ebola money amounting to 514 million meant for frontline workers in Kisoro district.
A section of health workers from Kisoro district Hospital were never paid risk allowances and raised the issue to Kisoro RDC Peter Mugisha who called for an investigation of the Kisoro district health department.
Kisoro LCV Abel Bizimana says the district had nothing to do with the CAO transfer adding that he has served the district well.
Secretary for Finance and Administration who also doubles as the Nyakinama district Councillor Ida Mugenga says the transfer is unfair citing a recent transfer of Kisoro Municipality town clerk Peter Matisko on July 3rd 2020 who was replaced by Sharifa Nakintu from Nehru Municipality.
Mugenga says with two new senior cadres, who will advise and guide the other when they are both new in the region
