Lawyer Nebye wins Rukiga FDC party Primaries

Stephen Nebye Rutaro, a lawyer has been declared the winner of today’s hotly contested Rukiga constituency Forum for Democratic Change- FDC party primaries.

Nebye who polled 35 votes defeated his only opponent Medard Rwaminyinyo Gumisiriza who garnered 23 votes. Nebye was in the 2011 elections the campaign manger of the former Rukiga constituency FDC Member of Parliament Hon Jack Sabiiti.

The election was held at Nyeikunama Primary school in Muhanga Town Council Rukiga district and was presided over by the Rukiga District FDC registrar Iddi Rweranga who declared Nebye the winner of the race.

Rwaminyinyo conceded defeat and promised to work together with Nebye and other FDC party members in the district for the fulfilment of the FDC party core values and objectives.

For the LCV primaries, Micheal Kwarikunda Mbareeba, the Rukiga district male Youths Councillor was unopposed. Judith Aturinda Dan was also unopposed for the Woman Member of Parliament FDC flag bearer.
