Urban Tibamanya leaves Kashari North MP race ahead of NRM primaries

The former Kashari Member of Parliament (MP) in Mbarara district and state minister for Urban planning and development, Urban Tibamanya has left Kashari North MP race.

 In a phone interview, Urban revealed that it is true he withdrew from the race ahead of National Resistance Movement (NRM) MPs and LCs primaries on 4th and 14th September 2020 RESPECTIVELY.

Urban Tibamanya declined to disclose the main reasons for his action but confirmed having already informed the NRM Secretariat in Kyadondo Kampala about this decision.

He now leaves candidates vying for the seat including incumbent Wilberforce Yaguma, Bazil Bataringaya, Mark Itogora Nyabihemu.

Tibamanya is a Ugandan lawyer and politician who was the State Minister for Urban Development from 2006 until 2011.

Although the cabinet reshuffle of 2009 did not affect his cabinet post, the cabinet reshuffle of 27 May 2011 caused him to be replaced by Justine Lumumba Kasule.

The NRM registrar Mbarara. Yorokamu Kacumita said 8 people are vying for Kashari north MP seat, 6 for district woman MP seat and 4 vying for Kashari south MP seat.
