Government aided Schools in Kabale District have started Receiving hand washing equipment.
The equipment was flagged off today by the Kabale District Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Edmond Timba in a function that was attended by Head teachers from Government aided Primary and Secondary Schools, at Kabale Municipal Yard.
Following the return of finalist students to school on 15th October 2020, Mr. Edmond explained that they found it important to help the schools by purchasing the equipment on credit.
He added that the district contracted Gentex products limited to supply the water tanks, and each school would pay their debt immediately after they receive the capitation grant from government. Ntimba said the Capitation grant was released a few days ago, but the funds were going through a legal system before they are handed over to the schools for accountability purposes.
A total of 113 water tanks were procured at 300,000 shillings each . Payment will be done using part of the 1.5 million shillings which was allocated to each school by the Ministry of Education and Sports to help in preventing the spread of COVID 19.
Ntimba said that they have also contracted Bukoola industries who will supply Water Spraying while head teachers would also be facilitated to buy temperature guns and Hand sanitizers for sanitizers
