UCU Student Killed in Kabale Accident

KABALE. A Motor accident along Mbarara- Kabale highway has claimed the life of Allan Ainebyona a third year student at Bishop Barhham University College.

  Kigezi Regional  Police Spokesperson Elly Maate,  says that the accident occurred last evening  at around 5:00 pm at Nkumbura  trading centre  about 15 kilometers  from Kabale town.

Ainebyona 24, a student of Business Administration at Uganda Christian University –Bishop Barham University college –Kabale, was heading to Kabale town when he met his death.

He was riding a Bajaj boxer motorcycle registration number  UEY 236E  when he was hit by a speeding Tanzanian bound  trailer registration number  UBF569E/UAW 942T .

The Driver of the killer vehicle has been identified as  Alex Twesigye 36, a resident of  Wakiso District.

It’s alleged that both were heading in the same direction and the trailer was overtaking the motorcyclist when it squeezed him off the road.

The motorcycle rider reportedly fell into the rear tyres of the trailer smashing his head.

According to Maate, Police has visited the scene and the deceased’s body has been taken to Kabale hospital mortuary for postmortem.

The vehicles are currently parked at police for inspection.

 The case has been registered at Kabale Police Station under file number   TAR 49/2020.
