3 arrested in connection to murder of Kabale EC guard

Police in Kabale district has in detention three people in connection to the murder of a Special Police Constable who guarded at Kabale Electoral Commission Offices.
In the night of Wednesday 27th, a 59 year old Gracious Byaryabakabu, a security guard at Kabale Electoral Commission offices was hit with a sharp object in the head and murdered by unknown people and his gun SMG rifle No 565824456 taken with 30 rounds of ammunition taken by the murderers.
His body was later in the morning discovered in a box by his incoming colleague who had gone to relieve him of work.
The Kigezi region Police spokes person Elly Maate says that after the incident, Police in Kigezi region started investigations to establish the murderers and recover the stolen gun.
Maate revealed that Police investigations led them to the arrest of three suspects and the exact gun (UG.POL 56_5824456) with 30 rounds of ammunitions, which was stolen, has been recovered.
The suspects were also found with two army trousers, one army shirt and one army jacket which were also recovered.
The arrested are a 27 year old Paul Dusingizimana alias Never Give Up a resident of Murambi village, Rwaramba parish, Nyakinama Sub County Kisoro District and Migisha Asimwe Mukwenda alias Young, 19 years, a resident of Gatete village , Mukabaya parish Burora Sub County Kisoro District.
The other is Bosco Twinomujuni, a boda boda rider resident of Rwakaraba cell Kijuguta ward Northern division Kabale municipality who facilitated the movements of the two major suspects. Maate added that all the suspects are in custody at Kabale Central Police as further investigations into the matter continue.
Speaking to our reporter, the two major suspects, Dusingizimana and Mukwenda admitted to have hit the deceased Byaryabakabu with a stone on the fore head which resulted to his death. They added that they killed him to get a gun to help them do more robbery.
