Police officers trained in call center handling

Police has embarked on training officers in south western Uganda in manning call centers.

The officers in question will be tasked with manning the Mbarara regional call center and they will be trained for two days.

The call center will be operational effective 18th, February 2021..

According to Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi regional police spokesperson , the call center covers the four regions of  Rwizi ,Greater Bushenyi, Kigezi and Rwenzori East but based at the Central Police Station of Mbarara in Mbarara City.

Kasasira says that the is headed by Superintendent of Police Moses  Ekudot  from the Directorate of ICT Police Headquarters to prepare officers for the task ahead of them.

He adds that the call center will be operational 24hours a day with a toll free number 999 for all networks at zero cost to help Members of the Public reach Police for timely responses to incidents and emergencies within the regions mentioned.

Kasasira however warned the locals who plan to misuse this service by giving police false information and attacking Uganda Police Force as an institution, that they shall be apprehended and charged accordingly.
