UNICEF funds vulnerable children’s shelter in Kabale

The mother to mother Organization based in Jinja city in partnership with Kabale District social welfare and Probation office have already secured funding from United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), to shelter three orphans from Buhara sub county Kabale district.

The three Orphans aged 17 years, 13 years and 9 years whose mother succumbed to HIV /AIDS while their father runaway were spotted 3 years ago in 2018 by the probation office while they were vulnerable and so needy.

This prompted the office to contact UNICEF and the mother to mother organization to come to rescue these young children.

Now, while delivering other relief items to the orphans yesterday, Moses Kasule the coordinator Mother to Mother community organization said that the sheltering of the orphans is half way to the roofing and any time the children will be fully sheltered.

Anatoli Mucunguzi the project manager Boona company limited which contracted to build the shelter on the 6th March 2021 says that the residential house has 2 bed rooms, a sitting room, a VIP latrine and will be completed on the 30th of this month April at a tune of 65 million shillings.

Monica Muhumuza the Kabale senior probation and social welfare officer commends UNICEF and Mother to mother community Organization for coming to rescue these young orphans.

Muhumuza notes that the children will stay in their shelter comfortably and wishes them a peace of mind.
