Police in Rukungiri is hurting for an 18 year old man for allegedly hitting a 31 year old man over quarrels while Gambling on the head and later died.
According to the Kigezi Regional spokesperson Elly Maate, the suspect has been identified as Brason Akampurira a resident of Kageyo village, Nyibingo parish Rukugiri district.
It’s alleged that on 26th April 2021 at around 1400hours the deceased Simon Tukahirwa a resident Nyamubogore cell Nyibingo parish Kebison Sub county Rukungiri district, left home and went to Dubai trading center for gambling. After reaching there he met the suspect in the process the two developed quarrels and erupted the fight thus the suspect hit the deceased on the head with a stick and he collapsed instanstly.
Maate adds that the relatives rushed him to Nyakibare hospital for treatment, and was yesterday when he was pronounced dead.
The father to the deceased Benon Katambuka reported to Rukungiri poplice station, scene was visited, postmortem done.
The case of murder by assault has been registered under reference number RRI CRB 792/2021.
