The health minister, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng has defended increment of lunch allowance for Nurses.
Nurses in the country on Monday entered a sit down strike demanding for an increase of their daily lunch allowances from Shs. 2000 to Shs.15, 000 that was promised by President Yoweri Museveni.
Minister Aceng says she has been lobbying for Shs. 15000 increment for lunch allowances for the nurses which they deserve, given their diligent service, but it is now upon the government to ensure these allowances are paid to the nurses.
Dr. Aceng also warned the public about the low uptake of Coronavirus vaccination, especially in the Lango sub-region.
She stressed that the recent vaccination report indicates that Lira city had performed poorly which sends a bad image to the public.
