A total of six people have been arrested by police in the southwestern district of Kanungu over murder.
The suspects whose identities have been withheld by police for security reasons were picked up in connection with the death of Bernard Kabazeemu (75) a resident of Runyaami cell Kamakoma parish Kinaba sub county.
The deaceased was reportedly attacked and killed by yet to be known assailants who used a sharp object.
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maaet says that the attackers also took off with household items belonging to the deacesed such as a Television set,Music system, battery among others.
He further reveals that his Kabazeemu’s lifeless body was discovered about 8 meters from his by locals and the incident was reported by Pius Bajeeru the area local council one chairperson.
Maate says that that the police has already commenced investigation into the matter.
